The Devil get's upset with one of his own and burns his face off.
Well I haven't painted in the FX and I still have to fix the paint on the Demons.
One of the Demons needs to be completely painted in the corner. and the floor still needs to be done.

-So I graduated the animation program, with honors, and was the recipient of the silver medal. The silver medal is awarded to the student with the highest GPA in the program.

-I have sent my film to many film festivals around the world and I am glad to say that it was accepted into the Air Canada EnRoute film festival. Passengers of Air Canada flights will have the chance to view my movie on their personal TVs on all flights in the months of October and November.

-I also just finished my 5 week contract as bg layout artist at CUPPA COFFEE so that's why my site has been a little "dry" lately.
I am currently looking for work as BG layout artist and concept artist.

I have been working hard on my movie. Although movie seemed like an incredible mountain that I had to climb I can finally see it's summit! I'm almost done all of my rough animation and it looks better than I imagined. Well here are some "new" drawings I painted, but they are only new to the blog.

I woke up at 4 in the morning today with the urge to draw. I have had soo many ideas that I could have developed further in these 4 years. So I decided to draw something up to explore where things could go. Here's another project I had in mind. What if we could see the first olympics.
I want to put up some character types I wanted to create. Here's an example, maybe to realistic of a spartan throwing a javelin. I have a whole crazy story that goes with all of this.

My 4th year movie

I've been thinking alot the this summer on what kind of movie I'd like to make in my 4th year at Sheridan. I believe that the barber story is what I should go with for now although I wanted also to make a short story on Christ. I don't think the audience would want a religious and very important story to be put up with other shorts that have alot of college humor. We'll see what my mentor thinks when I meet him or her. Here's a concept sketch for the barber movie.

I haven't posted in sooo long so here's a little something I want to share. I finally painted the caricature of my family I started way back.
I worked with digital leisure this summer on a cool project that has to do with video games and classical animation. After that was done I moved on and met a very talented Italian artist Daniele Procacci. Born and raised in Italy he also went to Sheridan and graduated in 2001. I've been collaborating with him on an awesome project he's developing with the support from the Italian Consulate in Toronto and other investors. It's a comic/graphic novel that illustrates the millions of difficulties that immigrants have to face to be able to start over. Daniele and I get along very well because we both love the Renaissance era. We will probably be working together in the future on something amazing we put together.

Here's a scene from My Hero. In this scene Billy has just finished reading his favourite comic, he's excited. He soon realizes that his own reality isn't all that great since he is alone in an old orphanage.
THis is the rough animation I did that was cleaned up by Lee Ann Dufour in the final film. I couldn't have done it without her help.

Drawing for our elective

For my elective I had to draw aasterix and Obelix arguing with Tin Tin over the validity of Litterature. So I decided to go with one version in 50BC and one that has them all looking realistic as if Tin Tin went back in time or something.

Here's some new stuff. The first 2 are 5 minute poses. Pretty much all the rest are 1 minute. There is 1 30 second pose, I think it's pretty clear on which one that is.

Got back on Saturday from our two week trip to Italy. It was great, my wife and I got to stay with the people we love the most and my wife's sister got married. Of course we bought the newly weds a gift but I wanted to make them something of my own. I decided to draw them a caricature paint it digitally and get it printed on canvas in Italy. The print cost me 30 €uros and came out great! The size was 50 x 30 inches!!
So even thought I have had this done for more than a month I can finally host on my blog without ruining the surprise!

Myhtology ancient comic books

I always loved mythological tales with incredible beasts and heroes. The eternal fight between good and evil. They are at the root of every comic book hero of today and they teach moral values and the sotry structure is rich and easy to follow in many of them. So here's something I'm working on now a centaur and minotaur fight.

This is a gift for my dad's best friend Jack who has a beatiful, sporty, Alfa Romeo step nose a great classic. So I decided to do caricature of his car and I'll be giving him the file so that he can get it printed on high quality glossy paper.
Jack and his wife Zlata have pretty much become our family here in Canada. I can't wait to show them the drawing. I hope they'll like it...

So here's the rough beak answering the snake..Part 2 of 2 I really am tired at this point in the year and I would love to have refined it more but we have so many things to do that I did this whole animation in about 8 hours... Rough and Clean Muzzle animation

Got the audio track from the movie Analyze this with Robert Deniro. This is the rough and the cleanup stage, If you look carefully you will notice many changes from one to the other. All fixes to make it look solid. I am currently animating the pigeon. I will be painting this animation when school is done. Hope you like it.

Here are some drawings from art fundamentals. My teacher back then was the great Tigh Walker, great guy and very inspirational. As you can see we kept things fun and challenging at the same time designing totally different scenarios. We also had more time for each assignment. The questions comes to mind when analysing the animation program, is it better to have quality or quantity? I'll leave you to answer that one.

Here are a few life drawings I got back from Brian last Thursday. There's some stuff that he had kept and a few other drawings I did in class last week.
I'm happy to say that I think I have improved a lot in the past months, probably because we got into shading. I think we all see life and the model in different unique ways. I see it as 3D volumes that occupy a space and they stand out because they contrast with the background there are no lines just shadow and light. The good teachers I've had never tried to change the way I draw they just helped me correct my mistakes, things that I thought were secondary to what needed to be depicted on paper. When I life draw the energy that I have inside is translated on paper. Some times it's hard to control it and soft touches only come out when I'm at peace with myself in that particular moment.

Some of you might be thiking where I got the saying "we're like renaissance artists".
Well it was after I handed these drawings in to Mark Thurman, in 1st year and showed them to Michelle Hannan that I came up with that weird name for us animators. Michelle named me the renaissance artist because I'm italian, love the renaissance art and the artists, and I'm probably not good at anything in particular but like to know how to do a bit of everything. Mark actually said that my hands and feet were very "raphaelian". I put a lot of effort in these drawings.
